Pilot 75

Over a period of time, I started to realize that there is not a single kite to fulfill the tasks I required.  Reliability, lift, and ease of assembly all come together in this single package.  There are no spars, and the only assembly required is pulling it out of the bag.  However, I did find it a bit difficult trying to roll it up, and putting it back into the bag.  A tip here from a beginner is to make sure the cells do not face the wind when you try to roll it up.

As you can see by the images, the Pilot 75 is a pretty decent size.  The flight angle did not seem to be as high as a Cody, but I guess that's just the nature of this kite.  The winds on this day were about 5 m/s (11mph).  The Pilot 75 kept a constant pull on the 500 lb. line, and was quite difficult bringing it in.  I gave up trying to pull the kite in, and ended up walking the kite down after I tied the line to my car.  I imagine there is enough lift on this kite to take up about 3kg (6.6 lbs) with ease on a good day. KAP images will be posted soon.
